Compact problem

I can't successfully compact my 2003 databases. I've
tried "Detect and Repair" and rebooting, with no effect.
I get two types of Message Boxes when I try to compact.
One that says "The file is not in the correct format for
a MS Office Access project" and "The file is locked or in
use by another user".

Hi:

Is your database open on network by another user or a app on your machine
itself. Check if the database name.ldb file exists and try to delete that
file. If you cannot some application has got the db open and you cannot
compact.
