Compact & Repair

I recently did a compact & repair on an Access2000 dB. In
the past I have gotten between a 3%-5% reduction in file
size. This latest c&r resulted in the file size going
from 16,424 kb to 1,468 kb. Everything seems to work.
Has anyone else experienced this sort of file size
reduction?

I usually see this in the "design" phase of a db application. If I am not
mistaken, every time you create a "form" or "feature", access allocates
memory space for it. Even if you later decide to abandon a feature, the
memory utilization remains.

Thus, a aompact and repair CAN under the right circumstances substancially
reduce the "size" of a database app.

THAT MUCH is unusual, but it has happened to me as well.
