Compacting email

I have 2 questions....I am using Outlook Express 6

1. I have had many of my emails from all my folders compacted, and I would
like to know how I can retrieve them, that is re-insert them into my inbox
folder and all my other folders?

2. How can I turn off the compacting function?

Compacting doesn't remove any messages; it removes unused space from the
data file.

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
