I am starting a project that already has a baseline. The contractor
is supposed to keep close the the schedule. I want to track the
difference between 'base' and 'actual' for reports.
My question is: What is the best way to do this? Tasks are all
identical. The only thing that changes is the date.
For example:
Baseline schedule:
1 Demolish washroom 1/10/11 1/20/11
2 Build walls 1/21/11 1/28/11
3. Install fixtures 1/29/11 2/5/11
But the actual time is:
1 Demolish washroom 1/10/11 1/22/11
2 Build walls 1/23/11 2/4/11
3. Install fixtures 2/5/11 2/25/11
I want a way to show the differences between these two time lines so
that a person who does is not a project manager will understand it.
