Compare Docs and Quotation Marks

Howdy, One and All!

I feel silly posting my questions like this (i.e. I should
be able to figure this stuff out), but here goes:

1. Compare Docs option is giving me trouble (I am used to
using "Compare Write" or some other really good document
compare program)

--for short documents I have no trouble "redlining" or
comparing documents. However, for longer documents (25-30
pages or more) and for those longer documents that I get
as attachments from e-mails, I try to use compare docs;
sometimes I am able to redline with no trouble and
sometimes......

compare docs will only compare part of the document (the
first 5 pages) and then the rest of the document shows up
all as "inserted" and/or "deleted" text. I read in a
manual somehow that compare docs can only handle a certain
number of pages (depending on hard drive, RAM, etc.). I
believe I must not be saving the documents correctly. Can
someone help? This should be simple, as comparing
documents with other software programs seems to be no
problem! Thanks.

Also, sometimes I have my "straight quotes" option turned
on and I get a document via e-mail that uses curley
quotes. How do I get them to jive (I will then get
wingdings and other strange looking characters)? Thanks!
