Compare documents print out

M

M S Word

Hello

The ³Compare documents² tool has changed so that when I print out a document
with the changes highlighted, it has huge right and bottom margins, even if
I have elected not to have the boxes showing balloons or action buttons
displayed.

Is there any way I can have the document printed so that it fits on the page
normally?

Thanks

It's, ahem, a by-product of progress, MS! (assuming you are in Word 2004).
And a dead loss.

As you have undoubtedly found out, even printing it from Normal view brings
a shrunken product. Printing to PDF does likewise.

Taking a screenshot (Command-Shift-4 to produce a PDF on the desktop of the
part you drag over, Control-Command-Shift-4 to place it instead on your
clipboard) may be useful for short documents ...

It's a bug that they are working on fixing, to be fair....and it is
intermittent. As the OP guessed, it is leaving room to print the balloons
even though you don't want them printed.

Make sure that you are not viewing Markup at all (change the Show setting in
the Reviewing Toolbar), and that you are neither viewing Hidden Text nor
have Hidden Text set to print. Others have reported the Hidden Text
settings make a difference.
