Compare Word documents and Excel workbooks.

Hi!

How can I compare two word documents if they are equal by content (text,
images, table, styles, fonts, etc). Same question for Excel workbooks.
Right now I was able to check two Word document by the text content but
that's not OK: the images, tables, styles, fonts are not checked for
equality. I also tried to check after the byte length. It doesn't work
either. It seems that an Word document with the text "document", le't say,
has the same length in bytes as another document with the same text
"document" but formatted as Bold.

Any ideeas?

Thanks in advance,
Nicu

I'm using VS 2005, .NET Framework 2.0 and VSTO 2005 SE.

I want to check if they are equal to see if I activate or disable a menu
entry. I want to activate that entry if the document has changed over the
first version or else, if the document has not been changed, to leave the
menu entry unmodified.

Thanks,
Nicu

Sorry for the added comments, I forgot to mention the MS Office used, it's MS
Office 2003.

Thanks again,
Nicu
