Hi,
I have data in two column. One column has 32422 raws and
second column has 6895 raws. One column has full
description and second column has either abriviations or
it starts with same first three, four or five alphabets
as column one. I like to match both columns by first
three, four and/or five alphabets and put data from
column two which has only 6895 raw to distribute the data
within same column but to the raws where it match with
column one which has 32422 raws. since column 2 has only
6895 raws of data but now instead the data will still
remain same but it will be distributed in 32422 raw where
ever it matches with column one data.

can someone help me if there is any function that I can
use to do this or may hlep me to write macro or by pivot
table or creating quary.

thanks
