I have Project 2007 but can't find the Compare Project Versions toolbar. Is
this something that has to be downloaded?

Hello Barry,

No, it doesn't need to be downloaded but upon occasion the COM Add-in
needs a jump start.
The Compare Project Versions is actually a COM Add-in file named
compprj.dll. Try the following:

Tools > Customize > Toolbars.
In the customize dialog box, select the Commands tab.
In the Categories: list scroll to find All Commands.
Click on All Commands and in the Commands: list on the right find
ComAddInsDialog.
Drag that command to a toolbar.
Click the COM Add-Ins... toolbar button and you should see the list of
add-ins.
My installation shows the following when I select the Compare Project
Versions Utility:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\COMPPRJ.DLL

Try removing and then adding the file.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hello Jason,

I assume you've removed the compare add-in? Search on your hard
drive for the file compprj.dll and make note of the location. It
may not be in the same location I noted below if you are running a
different version of Project. (The directions below were for Project
2007).

Then go back to the Com Add-ins dialog, click the Add button and
browse for the file.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Two days of searching, and finally someone was able to answer a question that
was not solved by the Repair, Uninstall, Reinstall, swapping Global.MPT files
with another user. Nothing was working.

For me, all I needed to to was uncheck the "Compare Project Versions"
add-in, click OK, open the "Com-adins" again, recheck the box, and voila, it
was available again.

Thanks for the help,

T

I tried this but it didn't work. I am able to find the DLL, select the add
button to add it but it doesn't show up in the comm add in dialog box?
