Compatibility between Office 2002 and 2003 in Invite Attendees fun

I have Office 2002. My wife's sysadmin recently upgraded her to Office 2003.
Now, when I invite her to a calendar event, the reply I receive via email is
full of text looking like:

How can we make Office 2002 and Office 2003 calendar/invite functions
compatible?
