Compatibility Checker - Links

My Version of Windows:
XP Professional
5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

My Version of Excel:
2007 (12.0.6425.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)

I get the following message...

Some of the formulas in this workbook are linked to other workbooks that are
closed. When these formulas are recalculated in earlier versions of excel
without opening the linked workbook, character beyond the 255 character limit
can not be returned.
Location: Defined Names

The help portion of excel instructs to do the following to resolve! In the
Compatibility Checker, click Find to locate cells that contain array formulas
that refer to another worksheet, and then make the necessary changes to avoid
#VALUE! errors.

I've done the "Find" and found no external links, to either open or closed
workbooks. Any ideas on what I else I need to do to find the links?

Never mind. Found them under Formulas > Defined Names > Name Manager and was
able to delete them as they were obsolete.

FYI - you are in the MAC newsgroup and commands like Formulas > Defined Names
Name Manager don't exist as such, since Excel 2004 and 2008 use the old GUI.

But mac users could fine the Insert, Name, Define command and could locate
the same issues.

Also, you can download a program that will locate links for you, because
there are other possibilities:
