Compatibility Checker-PowerPoint 2007

Has anybody found a menu choice that will allow me to NOT have Compatibility
Checker run each time I re-open/save a PowerPoint file created in an earlier
version. I'm working on a number of older files and have to uncheck the "run
Compatibility Checker" each time. Can the unchecked box be remembered on a
file-by-file basis ?

Sure,

Follow these steps from Powerpoint 2007:
Click the Office Button
Choose Prepare
Choose Run Compatibility Checker
When this dialog box opens, un-check the option (at the bottom left) to run
compatibility checker when saving powerpoint 97-2003 formats.
Choose OK

That should do it.

Unfortunately, PowerPoint doesn't "remember" that I un-checked the "Run
Compatibility Checker" when I close the file. If I re-open that file later,
and click on Save, the "Run Compatibility Checker" is again checked. I'm
looking for a way to turn it off and leave it off on a file-by-file basis.
Seems like PPT should "remember" that I unchecked the box.

Thank you.......I guess I'll just live with it. I don't like messing around
in the Registry.
