compatibility for Word regarding default screen resolution

I keep having to go to appearance and themes to re-set screen resolution when
I open a word document - old or new. It seems to be set at 640x480. Have
tried Winword, Compatability tab, but all boxes are unchecked. Driving me
nuts. Please help

Try Word's Zoom settings instead. (View-->Zoom) Perhaps this will help:

Hi Pat,

Word adopts the Windows screen resolution. Some of the
Word icons using 'large icon' can be a bit fuzzy in Word 2003
under Windows XP.

Are you opening the document full screen? What computer type
are you on (screen/monitor brand and type).
