Compatibility issue on XLSX pivot from PC/Windows version

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel We're working in a mixed environment where Macs are gaining on the old PC platform. If we can't fix this particular problem we'll all either move back to PC's or move everyone to Mac, as we can't seem to be able to share complex pivot tables between platforms.

On opening the document originating from the PC platform (Office Professional 2007) we get a message saying something like; "This workbook has content not supported by MS Office for Mac. - Filters based on stacked data. - Colour-based data filters." You can open/view unsupported content, but it'll disappear if you save under a new file name.

A workaround (at the least), or a more robust solution would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but there just is no one. Excel 2007 simply has some features that do
not exist in Excel 2008. You found one of them.

Unfortunately, there are indeed some gaps in features between MacXL2008 and WinXL2007. Microsoft is working hard to close many of those gaps in our next major release, especially those most requested by our customers.

Is it possible to send me ([email protected]) a copy of your workbook (with privacy info removed)? I'd be happy to take a look.

Thanks,
