compatibility of Office Std. Edition 2003 with Windows ME

I purchased Office Std. Edition 2003 and it requires
Windows 2000. I have ME. I looked at Windows 2000
Professional update and the box reads to me that 2000
Professional could be the same as ME - one is for business
the other home use. Do I need to upgrade to 2000
Professioanl in order to use Office Std. Edition 2003?

Re-read the box for Office 2003. Does it mention Windows Millennium
Edition?

In order to use Office 2003 (any edition), your operating system must be
either Windows 2000 SP3 or Windows XP. It cannot be installed on the
Windows ME operating system. Period. Windows 2000 is not Windows ME.
Windows 2000 was designed more for business use. Windows ME was designed
for home use. I would recommend that you upgrade your PC from Windows ME
to Windows XP so that you can install Office 2003.
