Hmmm. We use Excel 2007 on a Windows Vista machine to build large spreadsheet
models with multiple iterative calculations and multiple internal
links/dependencies. The models don't work correctly on a Windows machine using
Excel 2003, so I am hoping they will on a Mac platform using Excel 2008. What
I want is to be confident replacing a Windows machine with a Mac and using
Office 2008.
The only way to be confident is to try it.
What does not "work correctly" in Excel 2003 mean? If the models use VBA,
they will not work on a Macintosh. If the models use Active-X controls for
data entry, they will not work on the Macintosh. The very fact that they
don't work (what ever that means) in Excel 2003 leads me to believe that
they probably will not work on a Mac with Excel 2008. Take the files to an
Apple store on a memory stick and try it.
