Compatibilty WORD/OUTLOOK

This is for XP/SP2 + Office 2003.
When i have Outlook running, the MS Word window and WINWORD.EXE process
cannot survive more the a few keystrokes (and Outlook gets stuck!).
When Outlook is not launched, i have no pb with Word.
Made extensive testing for viruses and the like, but found nothing.
(Symantec AV + AVG + CWShredder + Ad-Aware + Spybot + a-squarred)
The "detect and repair" Office setup procedure was also carried out several
times.
Any clue what i do next?

Although the Office Update site told me “no update for your system†I
downloaded SP1 manually. But when I started installation I was informed that
SP1 had already been installed. Since it was assuredly not installed from the
Office Update site, maybe SP1 is included in my Office 2003 CD? I’ll check
this later.

May be Milly,
but why is it then that when i click "look for updates" on the Office site I
am being told that there is no update available for my system?

Scratching no, furious yes!
