Compatible Dual Monitor out cards

Is there a list of compatible Dual monitor out capable video cards (Desktop
PC) for Powerpoint, or is there something specific to look for when buying
one? I just bought one and found out that powerpoint doesn't support all of
them, and since that's the only reason I need a dual monitor out function,
I'm kinda boned, so I don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Thanks

What do you mean PP doesnt support ?
What exactly is the problem?
What vid card are you using?

I can't get powerpoint to run on a seperate window. You know, control on
one, show on the other. I have dual monitor support, but when I go to the
display properties, it doesn't give me the option to switch to dual monitor.
according to http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00476.htm for info, I appear
to have a multi-span monitor not a true multi mode card.

Multi monitor support, ie run in span or dual monitor mode, is a function of
your dual display vid.card software.
You have to set the software/card up to run in dual or span mode.
Using a dual monitor ATI card the software is Hydrovision, Nvidea uses Nview
Unless you set the vid card software to run in dual mode it will usually
default to either clone or span mode.
What vid.card are you using?

It's a Jaton Video-198PCI-64 Twin. I have it set to Span mode, but that's
the only option I have that will use dual monitor. Otherwise, my options are
Clone Stack or Off. PP doesn't work with it.

According to Jaton site this card uses/based on Nvidea GeForce4 MX440
perhaps it is a 'cut down' version that doesnt supply true/complete multi
monotor support.
Have you checked in Control Panel/System/hardware/Device Manager to ensure
you have no problems associated with your graphics driver?
If the card / driver is Nvidea there should be two entries under Display
Devices one of which should be 'dual view'
Allthough I note from Jaton site the driver download is about 15mb whereas
the Nvidea (direct) driver is some 20mb So perhaps indeed it is a cut down
version.
You might ensure your driver is updated.
You might also try Nvidea driver
http://www.nvidia.com/page/software.html
I use Nvidea drivers on an Asus vid.card, and I have no problem with multi
monitor and any MS Office app.

That seemed to do it. I downloaded the newest driver for the card, and after
about a billion restarts it seems to be functioning now.
