Compatilibity with a old version of Visio

thomas

I currently have Vision Version 4.0...really old, I know.

I'm looking to upgrade to 2007. Will I be able to use my old libraries and
view and edit old documents that were created with 4.0?

Thanks for any assitance.

Hi Thomas,

Shouldn't be a problem editing old diagrams. I still open drawings I made in
Visio 1.0 occasionally, and it works just fine.

Some of the drawing types that have more complicated behaviors like Org
Charts or database diagrams might pose more of a challenge, but I believe
that Visio usually tries to perform an "update" procedure - adding behaviors
to your shapes, etc. so that the newer code can properly manipulate the
diagrams.

What types of diagrams do you mostly have?

Hope this helps,
