"Compile Error in Hidden Module: Main"

T

Throb1231

Whenever I open Word, type a document or even try to save a documnet I get
the above error. It will not let me save a Word Document. This occurrs
whenever I open up saved documents as well. I can compose, mail and print
documents, I just cant save them.

I did have Via Voice Installed but uninstalled it right before this happened
so I know that is the culprit.

I have tried uninstalling all of Office 2000 and re-installing without
success, so now I'm getting mad.

Can anyone help???

Chances are if you uninstalled Via Voice then the uninstall didn't
remove its add-in for Word and that's why you are now encountering the
error right after uninstalling it.

Take a look under Tools/Templates and Add-ins and see if you have any
global templates in the list. If so they can be found in one of your
Startup folders either the Word Startup folder or the Office\Startup
folder.

The location of the Word Startup folder can be found by going to
Tools/Options/File Locations and the Office\Startup folder is located
in the Office installation path. You can also you use Windows Search
to locate the file(s). Once found, move any templates you find out of
the folder one at a time and try recreating the error until you find
the one causing the problem.

Note even if you don't find a template for Via Voice the error is
caused by a global template so the instructions I provided are
applicable to any templates in either Startup folder.
