"Compile error in hidden module" on startup and close of Word and Excel

After uninstalling Visual Basic 6.0 from my PC, I now get an error message
"Compile error in hidden module: _____", where the blank is "AutoExec",
"DistMon", "AutoExecNew" or other modules. The affected programs are Word
2003 and Excel 2003. It doesn't happen when saving docs, only on open or
exit of the application.

I researched the problem on MS Support, and came up with the Q articles
listed below. None of them fixed the issue (I use Symantec Corporate
Antivirus, but it's version 8.1, which has long since fixed this issue. I
don't use Goldmine, and my version of Acrobat is 6.0 Standard).

Help! The stupid error messages are driving me nuts.

Hi Skip,

The error is in a PDFMaker for Word and Excel. In Word take a look in
the Office\Startup folder located in the Office installation path and
for Excel take a look in the XLStart folder.

Adobe may have an update so if you are utilizing the add-ins check
their site.

I suspect the removal of VB 6.0 also removed a DLL the add-in is
using. It should have been included in their application so you might
try reinstalling Adobe PDFMaker too.
