Compile error in hidden module: util

When I attempt to print using the Print.. tab from the
drop down menu in Word 97, I obtain the following error
message: Microsoft Visual Basic
Compile error in hidden module: util
I can still print using the Print command on the toolbar,
but this does not allow me to alter the print settings.
I am using Windows XP. I don't know the version of Visual
Basic that I am running

Start Word in Safe Mode. From Start, Run type in

WinWord /a

and press enter. Now open a document and try the print commend from the Menu
again. If it now prints OK, it means that some third party application or
utility has installed its own print command overriding the built in command.
Check under Tools, Macros and rename the suspect macro by placing XXX in
front of the name (which will stop it running) and test again (after
restarting Word in the normal way).

Hello Terry

Thanks for the response.

You were right - it was a third party program that had
created a number of macros. I don't use the third party
software, so I uninstalled it and deleted the macros and
everything's now fine.

Cheers
Greg
