Compile error in hidden module:

M

Matt Howard

This message comes up when i start or exit word. How do i stop it from
appearing? I think it is something to do with macros as i recently lowered
the security to low...

Setting macro security to Low is not a good idea. It allows all
macros to run, whether you want them to or not. If you set macro
security to Medium, then you will be prompted to answer yes or no
to each macro that tries to run, unless the macro has been added
to the trusted sources list.

"Hidden module" suggests the error lies in a global template rather
than a COM add-in. This article may be a little more specific if the
error is in global template:

Sorry, Matt. I meant to give you a link to another article. Try
the link Beth Melton provided. And if Adobe Acrobat is installed
on your computer, then see
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307410 "You receive a 'Compile
error in hidden module' error message when you start Word or Excel".

your a genius.... I had a compile error in hidden module but it was a Wfx
Macro (winfax). I followed the direction as if it was a pdf, deleted it and
now my error's gone.

Thanks, Deb
