Compile Error in Hidden Module

S

Steve R

New ERROR has appeared in WORD 2007 and EXCEL 2007 -- (and most likely would
appear in the other office programs (other than OUTLOOK 2007):
It reads:

"Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec"
or
"Compile error in hidden module: DistMon"

This occurs when I am starting or closing WORD or EXCEL.

The only change I have made to my system, is the deletion of Efax 4.2 and
the installation of Efax 3.3 (wherein I have removed a "dll" file that would
insert an efax icon into all Office programs).

Any suggestions?

For Excel check the XLStart folder for the PDFMaker.xla add-in. For
Word, check the Office\Startup folder for the PDFMaker.dot add-in.
These files can either be deleted or moved out of the folder to
prevent them from attempting to load when the applications start.

You may just want to use Windows Search and search for PFDMaker to
find both of them at once.

Sorry for glomming onto this post, but I am not able to create a new one.
However, my issue is somewhat related.

Hi,

Has anyone else come across this error - Compile error in hidden module:
cRegistry - when launching Excel (2000) and having Acrobat 8.1.1 standard
installed?
Windows XP SP2

Both Acrobat and Office were repaired.
Fresh image and install of both applications.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you remove the PDFMaker add-ins, as described in my previous reply, do
you still encounter the error?

Also note, if you encounter a compile error in an add-in that's not
something you can correct -- it's up to the creator of the add-in to correct
it. All you can do is find the add-in and disable it to prevent the error
from continuing to occur.

Regarding your inability to create a new post, chances are you have a popup
blocker that is preventing the display of the new post. If you use the
Google popup blocker, hold Ctrl while clicking the New Post option. If it's
from Windows XP SP-2, check for the info bar below the Address bar in your
web browser, if found, click the info bar and allow popups.
