We want to record time using the percent complete and remaining work method.
The necessary changes were made and I can enter percent complete and
remaining hours in PWA.
Knowing that you also need to record actual start and actual finish
(otherwise Server thinks that the tasks start and end on time) I added actual
start and actual finish to the PWA task view. The fields appear but are
closed to update. This makes sense because this is about an individual
resources time. Others may also be working on the task and have their own
start and end dates.
I added actual start and end dates to the project plan. The project plan
had no problem with adding the fields and entering data but when I went back
to PWA, these fields remained empty. Are these fields for the PM’s eyes
only? Is it unreasonable to expect that these fields appear in PWA and be
populated from the project plan? Is the solution to set up PWA to handle
percent complete and remaining work and track the project start and end date
in the project plan only?
