% complete in server not always matching % complete in the project

I have noticed that on occassion where a resource completes a task in less
hours than planned, the task will show as 100% complete on that resources
task sheet but will not show as 100% on the actual project plan. For example
a task estimated to take 8 hours of work over a three day period. The
resource actually completes the work in 4 hours and records that time and
changes their remaining work to 0 resulting in that task showing 100% on
their task view, yet when the update is processed by the Project Manager, the
actual project plan shows only 50% complete.

I have tried to re-create the scenario you describe

The only near match I have is if I set the task type to fixed duration and I
can see the units for the assigned resource listed next to their name

However, the task is still 100% complete

A quick question - is there a tick in the indicators column to the right of
the task name. If so, the taks is recorded as complete.
