% Complete

Can anyone tell me why the % Complete no. in PWA view does not seem to match
the project tracking line in the gantt chart in Project Center. For example
I have a number of projects ranging from 10 - 90% complete using the %
complete outline code. When viewing that in PWA with the Gantt chart on the
right side. They do not seem to match. Not even close. I've even added the %
work complete to the same view to see if it matches. I've tested it with
various degree's of completion. For example: Identical project starts dates
and times but different amounts of work. Niether seem to match. % complete
will show 80%. Tracking line appears at 50 % complete. What does the
tracking line indicate? Others 20% complete tracking line is at 50%.

Hi,

in PWA timesheet user sees ASSIGNMENT percent WORK Complete (=Actual
WORK/remaining work)

in Project Gantt Chart PM sees TASK percent TIME complete (=Actual
DURATION/remaining duration)

You can open Project Pro Task Usage to check that per-assignment percentage
is the same as users see in their PWA timesheets.

Sorry Vadim,

I'm not looking at task time or Timesheet to compare. I'm in
Project center. In a view in Project center Showing a listing of projects
based on Project Start date. I have select % complete as an item on the left
pane of the view along with the basic's, Project Name, ID, Start Date,
Baseline , etc. On the right side is a gantt chart showing the project
duration in Calendar format with a tracking line, or at least thats what it
appears to be. However, I haven't found a good explaination as to what it
represents. It doesn't seem to change in relation to work or Duration. Any
idea?
