% complete

In Microsoft Project 2007 how do I make the % in the Gantt chart reflect what
the % Complete for the task Name is? Currently if it is 100% complete it
shows as 100% complete on the Gantt chart, but if it is anything else it
shows as 0% complete on the gantt chart.
Also, how do I set up the % Complete so that it automatically updates when
Start and Finish dates are entered/modified? It doesn't always seem to
automatically update when I enter a new Finish date.
