Hello,

If someone could help me by providing a macro that would accomplish the
following tasks, I would really appreciate it.

I have 30 documents of test questions that I have to format. There are tabs
before and after all numbers and tabs after each ANS: .

The true/false test questions are grouped together like this:

11. In ancient times, clothing of simple design was made from items found
in nature.
12. Occupational clothing includes special garments to protect workers from
dangers encountered on the job.
13. Adornment can help attract the opposite sex and create envy in rivals.

The answers are below, like this:
11. T
12. T
13. T

I need the final result to look like this:
11. In ancient times, clothing of simple design was made from items found
in nature.
ANS: T
12. Occupational clothing includes special garments to protect workers from
dangers encountered on the job.
ANS: T
13. Adornment can help attract the opposite sex and create envy in rivals.
ANS: T

There are also multiple choice questions in the document, like this:

21. Clothing can provide protection _____.
A. for adornment and identification
B. through modesty and status
C. against weather, environmental dangers, occupational hazards, and enemies
D! All of the above.
22. A pair of blue jeans is an example of _____.
A. a classic style
B. occupation clothing that is now fashionable
C. a garment
D! All of the above.

The answers are below like this:
21. C
22. D

I need the final multiple choice questions to look like this:

21. Clothing can provide protection _____.
A. for adornment and identification
B. through modesty and status
C. against weather, environmental dangers, occupational hazards, and enemies
D! All of the above.
22. A pair of blue jeans is an example of _____.
ANS: C
A. a classic style
B. occupation clothing that is now fashionable
C. a garment
D! All of the above.
ANS: D

This may be too complex and I may have to resign myself to hours of copying
and pasting. Thanks for any advice/help.

Actually, it is not too complex at all IF the document was designed for this
in the first place. I gather it is not. I am not exactly sure if I see the
actual structure.

Are these grouped? The True/False separate from the multiples? My guess is
that they probably are not.

Are they using Styles? Ummm, probably not.

Are they using a numbered list?

Actually, what I would like to know is, does the document look EXACTLY, and I
mean EXACTLY, as you describe. In other words, does it look exactly like:

11. In ancient times, clothing of simple design was made from items
found in nature.
12. Occupational clothing includes special garments to protect workers
from dangers encountered on the job.
13. Adornment can help attract the opposite sex and create envy in
rivals.

11. T
12. T
13. T

21. Clothing can provide protection _____.
A. for adornment and identification
B. through modesty and status
C. against weather, environmental dangers, occupational hazards, and
enemies
D! All of the above.

22. A pair of blue jeans is an example of _____.
A. a classic style
B. occupation clothing that is now fashionable
C. a garment
D! All of the above.

21. C
22. D

Are the space between "extra" paragraphs? Put in with an "extra" Enter key?

Hi,

Here is exactly how the document looks (see below). There are some matching
questions at the beginning, too, and essay questions at the end. I can do
some pre-formatting of the document if that makes it easier to run a macro.
This is a shortened version. Most of the tests have about 33 questions total,
so there would be more matching, true/false, and multiple choice questions,
numbered from 1-33. The only extra paragraph mark is between the end of the
test questions and the beginning of the answer key. Thanks for your help.

Also, the matching section is a bit different from the rest of the test. The
matching answers are not to be interspersed with the questions. They are just
to follow the questions in a list. I can do that manually myself, not using
the macro. Using the example posted on 9/28, this is what the final test
needs to look like.
