Complex Resource Availability

I've been trying to figure this out all day without success.

Here's the background:

We are building Distribution Centers across the US. When a
Distribution Center is ready to come online, we have an implementation
team that is dispatched to help with this process. Our team is split
into 2 groups working 12 hour shifts, so that we maintain a 24hr/day
presence.

Here's what I need:

I need to be able to specify that a resource is available for 24hrs/
day but is considered overallocated after 12 hours. In other words,
any given resource should be able to work the day or night shift
depending on demand.

Here's what I've done:

I've set each resource up with a 24hr Base Calendar. I then assigned
each task a 1). Day Shift Calendar or 2). Night Shift Calendar.

The problem is that when I look to see if a resource is over allocated
(View --> Resource Usage), the report highlights that resource in Red
(Over Allocated), but still displays that there are 12hrs of available
time left to schedule that resource for.

Here's what I need:

I need the Resource Usage to indicate that 0hrs are available when any
12hrs in a given day is assigned to particular resource.

I hope this makes sense. I can clarify if necessary.

Thanks in advance for your help.

HI,

I suggest keeping it simple. If you have two groups doing 12h each, then
schedule 1 group for 24h. If some resources are only working the day shift,
treat them as normal but with a 12h calendar.
