complex script fonts in Word 2002

Somehow support for complex script fonts was enabled in
Word 2002. In the reveal formatting pane, there is an
entry for complex script font, and the language is given
as (complex) Arabic Saudi Arabia, English U.S. On the font
dialog box, there is a section for complex scripts. The
preview pane below shows both English and Arabic. How do I
turn this off? Any idea how this could happen? Have I been
hacked?

Your system may have been enabled for RTL languages. Use the Office Language
Setting Tool and/or Control Panel > Regional Settings to disable.

Mike: Thanks for the suggestion but I checked both and
they are set to English (US) and the region is set to the
U.S. On the language tab of the regional and language
dialog in the control panel, the box for "install files
for complex script ..." is *not* checked. I tried zapping
normal.dot to see if somehow complex scripts were set
there, but that didn't make any difference. I'm using
Windows XP home version, with service pack 1 installed.
The version of word is Word 2002 (10.4524.4219) SP-2. I've
checked the FAQ and searched on Google, but to no avail.
What else could it be?

So you do not have Arabic as an enabled language in the Office Language
Setting Tool.? I just want to be certain as many people go to the wrong
place. The defaults don't really matter.

Right, I do not have Arabic enabled in the Office
language setting tool. (Navigated to by
start>programs>microsoft office tools>microsoft office xp
language settings) In the enabled languages box, only
English (U.S.) appears and it is greyed out. I've also
checked through the control panel, as you suggested, using
the language and regional settings tool. I am baffled.
