Complex search in Microsoft PowerPoint?

Is there the complex search and replace functionality in Powerpoint like the
one in Microsoft Word?

I would like to be able to do a global search and replace for specific
formatting ( e.g. replace a font and font size with another font and font
size.)

Alan,
No, nothing like Word can do.
But you can change your font and size in the master, which would take care
of placeholder text in your presentation. Go to View - Master - Slide
master, select the placeholders and apply your new font and size.
