Compressed Print

I'm using Word 2004 for Mac on a Dual Mirrored Drive Door Mac running
OS 10.3.5 and every so often I print a document and Word compresses
it. It happens at not specific time, sometimes it's the first time I
print that day, and sometimes it does after printing 25 documents
without a problem. I know it is not document specific. Has anyone
else experienced this?
