Compressing attachments

Entourage compresses attachments as .sit files which can only be read on a
Mac. But is there some way it can compress attachments in a Windows friendly
format? Thanks

I believe Entourage 2004 does that if you have the "Compress
attachments" preference enabled. Check under Entourage menu -->
Preferences --> Mail & News Preferences --> Compose.

However, I don't believe you have a choice in compression format.
Entourage 2008 uses the ZIP format instead of the Stuffit format.

Its odd why they failed to include a feature that I recall was available
back in their older Outlook Express Mac OS 8.x client.

Oh well Entourage 2004 has a billion features that one lacked.

You can use Barry Wainwright's free "Attach ZIP" script to attach a file as
a ZIP archive that can be read on a Windows machine. Get it here

Of course, Windows users could open Stuffit .sit archives if they were to
install StuffIt Expander.
