compressing files

Is there any way to do this, and granted I dont even know if this is the
correct term, for what I want to do. But I have a 2gig computer and when one
note is running the computer goes pretty slow. I was just wondering if there
is a way to make the very large files that I have in my one note not make it
go so slow or if I put them in separate notebooks would that help. Thanks to
josh einstien for the reply on the inserting files as printouts for 64 bit.
If you do hear of a fix please let me know ASAP.

You can manually set file compression options in Tools | Options | Save |
Optimize all Files Now. That will rewrite the various *.ONE files to get
rid of whitespace. But that whitespace int he files on the disk do not
have a direct bearing on the amount of memory the data takes up in RAM.

I doubt the page size is slowing OneNote down, however. You may want to
let the computer sit overnight with OneNote running, as it might be
indexing your files (also check your WDS settings), or it might be
performing an audio or picture index. These can be turned off by going to:

Tools | Options | Audio and Video | uncheck "Enable searching audio and
video recordings for words"

and

Tools | Options | Other | check "disable text recognition in pictures"
