Compressing picture size (dpi) in Power Point

I know on the PC version, you can go under FORMAT A PICTURE and
compress the picture size from, say 5 megapixels to low res. On the
MAC version, I can't find it anywhere!

My file is now 38.5 megs and I need to be able to reduce that file down
to emailable size. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

(And I've tried to do it under APPLE, PREFERENCES and did it there,
but... it's not working.

HELP!
