Is it possible to compress pictures using wordx for mac.
I know I can do it easily in word 2003 for pc, but the
command for compressing pictures that shows up in the
picture toolbar in PC doesn't show up in the mac picture
tool bar. Is this even possible using mac. Is it
available in word 2004? Need help.

No. You need Word 2004 to give you graphics editing capabilities.

If you save your document as a Web Page in Word X, I think I remember that
you get Web Options. One of those options is to "Allow PNG as an output
format". If you chose that, and save your document as a web page, then
re-open it and save it again as a Document, the pictures are converted to
PNG format.

PNG is highly compressed: it's about one twentieth the size of the raw
bitmap or TIFF. That's the mechanism Word 2003 uses to compress its
pictures.

Cheers
