Computer Freezes when opening any Office file

Whenever I try to open any kind of office file now, the
computer freezes and it takes forever to open, but if i
open the program first, then open the file from there,
it's fine. I have a fast system that shouldn't be having
this problem (way over requirements) and it only just
started happening. The computer is defragmented, checked
for viruses, cleaned up, and all the other maintence
stuff every week, so i can't figure out what might be
causing the problem. Thanks in Advance
