Computer freezes when outlook 2002 is running

Every time I open outlook since I changed to comcast, all
my programs, including Outlook freeze.

I have archived my old email, have cleaned up my inbox and
have tried researching on product support. There has been
no change.

Any ideas?

I've been having the same problem.
When I manually do a send/receive (after previewing with Mailwasher),
everything freezes for 15 seconds and then thaws for a second and
repeats this pattern until I restart. I started up Regmon, a utility
(from SysInternals.com) that logs every registration access. The
freezes mostly coincide with a reg access by SVCHOST.

Let me be more specific. When I open Outlook 2002, my
Internet Explorer freezes up, I can't open MS Word 2002,
Excel 2002, or any other Office 2002 program; the computer
is very slow to switch between windows.

I am running Windows XP 5.1.2600 SP1, Internet Explorer
6.00.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633, and I cannot get my
outlook version.
