computer is unable to read floppy disk.

I saved documents on a floppy disk and now the computer is unable read it.
error shows "The floppy in drive A: is not formatted or has been formatted
for a macintosh. I just used this disk last week and it was readable. Help

You have just discovered why you should never ever work with Word from
floppy disc. The disc is corrupt and the data it contains probably not
recoverable - and certainly not without specialist software.

There is simply not enough space on floppy disc to allow Word to open files
and create the working files it requires. If it cannot create its files, the
disc is corrupted.

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. Copy to the
hard disc and work on the document from there. This is equally relevant to
other removable media such as CDRW.

The disk may not be corrupt. Security features in recent updates may prevent
opening files on removable media, but they can still be copied to the HD and
opened from there.
