computer locks up while useing Word

When I am useing Microsoft Word my computer locks up. Other times it will
restart itself. I never get through my work without a problem.

Me too, nobody seems to have the answer.
Using XP pro with xp office. Computer never locks up except when typing
fast within word. Tried deleting temp files, changing typmatic rate.
Still happens.....

Suzanne, thanks but this is not the answer, the machine locks up while
typing in word, could be 10 minutes. Replaced normal dot, removed temp
files. using office xp.
