Computer shuts off after a few beeps

Everytime I try to work in Word, my computer shuts down
after several beeps. This happens after 5-10 minutes of
working. I have to restart the computer. There is no
error message to prompt me to save my work, and no error
message when I come back on. It just beeps and shuts
down. Any thoughts? Thanks.
