Concerned about further versions of OneNote2007

Ms. Fanny GTC

Hello everyone,

I am building a database for my department using OneNote 2007. My concern is
about compatibility of this version with next generations. As you can figure
out, it could imply to lose information and money/time, if further upgrades
are not user-friendly. I have read some issues between ON'03 and ON'07 (for
that, I wanted to share my concern).

I encourage Microsoft team to be aware of any odd situation during design.
Any consideration is highly appreciated, specially when 90% of my job
depends of OneNote2007! hehe...
Regards!

It is likely that OneNote 2007 will not be able to open files created by
future versions of OneNote, however, we expect that the next version of
OneNote will be able to read and write files in the OneNote 2007 format.
It's likely that the next version of OneNote will also be able to freely
convert between the two formats.

Ilya,

You are right. Microsoft's scheme has always been to make old versions
compatible with new ones, but not viceversa. Now I realized my concern from
this point of view would not make any sense.

Thanks for your time!
