I've got a database, developed in 2003, that I would like to convert to 2007,
but I can't figure out how to replace some actions it takes based on the user
login (group security setting). The database uses a function I got online
for checking a user's group, to redirect actions - for instance, say a user
clicks a button to view project details, if the user is in the "Accounting"
group a different form with project info is opened than if the user is in the
"Project Manager" group. It's also used to hide/show controls or set editing
properties, and the like.
I've finally gotten a computer with Vista/Access 2007 on it and I haven't
been able to find any features that I might use as a substitute. I'm
modestly skilled with Access (2003), but am hoping someone with more
experience and expertise can help point me in the right direction (or clarify
it's a lost cause).
Thanks,
Karen
