Conditional Format Does Not Print

C

CKizziar

I created a report in Access using conditional formatting to show a different
background color based on the value of the calculated control based on the
value of another control. When I run the report I do not get to see the
formatting unless I click on each individual item, but as soon as I click on
another that one resets back. I need to print the report showing all
conditional formats.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try Print Preview? If so, you really can't click on a record to cause
any effect.

Thanks for replying Duane, I did try to print preview and the conditional
formatting does not show up in a print preview. I have to be in report view
and select the individual record to see the formatting. My guess is that for
some reason the formatting is only applied during a GotFocus event, which I
don't know how to correct since I used the built in conditional formatting
feature.

Also, I don't know if this helps or could make a difference, the field I have
the formatting applied to is a simple calculated field.

Control Source: =Sum([TOTAL OH])

What happens if you print the report?

It prints the report the same as in the preview, all the fields are there but
none of the conditional formatting shows up.

The background of certain fields is supposed to change colors, either green,
red, or yellow depending on whether the calculated total is equal to (green),
less than or Null (red), or greater than (yellow), but they all remain at the
default background color for the control.

Are the background(s) set to transparent?

Yes they are. I have a screenshot with classified information removed if
there is a way to get it to you if that would help.

I appreciate all of your time on this a lot.

I haven't worked much with reports in Access 2007, I used to maintain an
oracle database but my role has somewhat changed, is there perhaps something
that I should be doing different to make the format apply all the time as
opposed to only showing during a GotFocus type event?

Try set the background to your default color. It might be an issue that if
the background is transparent, it never shows.

That fixed the problem! I absolutely appreciate all of your time and effort,
thanks and rock of the marne!
