Conditional formating question

I have a column that displays currency type with a 3 digit code (ie. EUR).
Based on this code, i want to automatically update the currency type in
another column. EX

COLUMN A COLUMN B
EUR 10,345.78

Does anyone know the conditinal formula that would make this possible?
Based on COLUMN A code, Column B would format the number in the right
currency?

Been struggling with this for days!

You're going to have to give us more examples. Show us what you mean by
"format the number in the right currency". Commas and periods switched?
Currency symbol changed? Exchange rate applied?

Fred.

What i mean is that if the code is in Column A is EUR than the cell in Column
B should be displayed as EURO currency (ie. instead of $ sign it should be
the EURO sign):

EUR € 10.00
GBP £10.00
AUD AUD 10.00
USD $10.00
CAD $10.00
JPY ¥10.00

You're not going to be able to do that with conditional formatting.

My solution would be to have a lookup table for the currency symbol. Then
use a formula like:
=vlookup(a1,CurrencyTable,2,false)&" "&Text(b1,"#,##0.00")
to display the amount.

Fred.

Thank you. Will try doing the vlookup
