Conditional Formatting functionality problem

Hello, I need some help with a conditional formatting problem. I have an
Infopath form submitting to an WSS Form library. I have the form library
setup as a secondary data source in the form. When a user enters a field
(customer name) which matches the same field on a form in the WSS library, I
want to be able to display certain controls. I have tried using a section and
hiding it with Conditional Formatting using an "is not equal to" argument. I
have also tried "does not contain". In all cases, when the condition is met,
the section does not unhide. When I choose a 'positive' conditional format,
"is equal to" or "contains", it successfully changes the format, to a
different color, etc... so I don't understand why the negative condition is
not working. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks,

For some reason I thikn infopath sees not equal to as the everything else
option and is hence not deifinite enough to take action on. To get around
this you can use rules to set the value of a field on the form to indicate
equal to or not equal to and run the conditional format off that. This has
helped me in the past.

Thanks Adam,

That workaround 'works'.

Glad to hear it.

One thing i should mention though, the field you condition off does NOT have
to be represented on the form.
