Conditional formatting on a rich text box

N

Nicolas

Hi

I have a strange problem. I have a form that I use under InfoPath Forms
Services. In the form I have a conditional formating on a rich text box that
just won't work.
It works fine in preview mode but when I deploy it to the server the
conditional formating stop to work. It works for all other controls except
the rich text box.
Have you heard about this problem?

Hi,

It also depends the browser you use, the full range of formatting options
are available only in supported versions of Internet Explorer, including
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and Windows Internet Explorer 7.0. It is
possible for users to edit text in a rich text box in other supported
browsers, such as Firefox 1.5 or Safari 2.0, but formatting options are
unavailable, including changing the text color and applying character
formatting.

Maybe you have the library set up
as open forms in browser.
Rich text box does not work with browser forms.
In fact if you have the compatibility setting set up initially with
browser form it won't let u drop Rich text box.

HI,

Try to do this one , Please place the rich text box into a section and apply
conditional formatting for that section.

What exactly are you trying to do in terms of conditional formatting? I have
rich text boxes that DO trigger rules based on conditions as well as other
conditional formatting options that are running, but there is one thing that
absolutely will NOT work and that is if you have a rule or condition that
checks to see if a rich text box is empty. If it has never had anything
inside of it, then the "empty" check will work. If anything is added to the
rich text field and then removed, the "empty" check becomes useless, because
rich text fields are XHTML, which means they have more than text in there
when something is added. There are HTML tags (e.g. <div>) that do not go
away when deleting the text, therefore the field is never empty again.
