Conditional formatting on formulas?

Can you do a conditional formatting function on a cell with a formula?
For example, if the cell A1 is a formula that generates "Yes", can you
have A1 be conditionally formatted to turn red when that cell is "Yes"?
I seem to be having trouble doing this and it seems that the
conditional format only works when you have an absolute value and not a
formula.

Yes.

To simplify assume you have a formula in B2 like this

=IF(A2>2,"Yes","No")

to use conditional formatting in B2 for red yes,
select B2, use formula is and

=A2>2

select a red font..
