Conditional formatting question

N

Neil

Good evening all

Quick one (I hope!)

In cells U7:U19 I have a sum to rank a set of items, which appear in cells
V7:V19.

I have tried to set a conditional format so that when the value in U7:U19 =
1, then the item in V7:V19 is red in colour (standard is blue). Now I am
obviously missing something somewhere (braincell perhaps!), but I cannot get
this to work - anyone got any ideas??

Mucho grandee in advance, as always.

Regards

Select V7:V19 (keeping V7 as the "active" cell)

Go to Format > Conditional Formatting

Change Condition 1 from "Cell Value is" to "Formula is"

=$U7:$U19=1

Hit "Format" and select Red from the Font tab (or Patterns if you are
looking to fill the cell with color).

oops...my error...change the formula

=$U7:$U19=1
to
=$U7=1

Neil,

Select V7:V19
In CF, set Condition1 to FormulaIs
In put the formula =U7=1
Click Format
On the Font tab, set the colour to red
